Overall Summary : Fun romp, but lacks something

Pros:

A fun romp, with lots of humour and hijinks, involving Kenshi Masaki, Tenchi's younger half-brother from Nobuyuki's remarriage to Rea, a girl he met not long after the passing of his wife, Kiyone.Lots of humour and fanservice, plus enjoyable characters such as the gentle Lapis and the rather forward Mexiah.

Cons:

You don't get to see ANY of the standard Tenchi characters from previous shows - just a few mentions, and a very brief flashback with Ryo-Ohki in spaceship form. Also fanservice, while fun, can be rather excessive, in that virtually every girl Kenshi meets gets to show more than intended - even one of the villains, who is relieved of everything under her waist when dangling from a tree!
Also the story starts abruptly with Kenshi already in Geminar - an intro showing how he got there would have been nice.

Other Thoughts:

I loved this show, but badly missed seeing the original characters, as well as how the main character actually arrived in Geminar. It'd have been nice to have a story leading up to the first episode's events, at least, instead of abruptly starting all the action with him already being there. It just doesn't feel like a TM! show without the standard characters, though...it'd have been even more enjoyable with at least some flashbacks of them.
But overall it's still very enjoyable and worth watching, even if it feels unconnected to the previous OAV continuity, from which this is derived (along with GXP)
